RIVERTREE MASSILLON KID'S DIRECTOR

OUR STORY

RiverTree Christian Church has a vibrant history. 2005 marked a significant milestone as they planted their inaugural multi-site campus, RiverTree Massillon, nestled in the heart of Massillon, Ohio. Fast forward almost two decades and RiverTree Christian Church has evolved into the RiverTree Movement, a family of seven churches spread across Stark/Summit County, knit together by a common vision to see all of northeast Ohio wake up to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

RiverTree Massillon has experienced a period of notable growth and vitality in recent years. In the summer of 2022, the church welcomed Pastor Jake Garmany, along with his wife Hannah and their two sons, Oliver and Isaac. Over the past two years, the church has seen steady growth and impact. Weekly attendance has risen from an average of 200 to 390, representing a substantial increase of nearly 95%. Alongside this growth, there has been a noticeable influx of young families.

Additionally, there has been a commendable increase in generosity, with weekly giving seeing a rise of approximately 54%. This surge in financial support has enabled the church to expand its outreach and launch several impactful ministries aimed at helping people discover more in Jesus.

CHALLENGE + OPPORTUNITY

We believe this opportunity is an exciting and necessary next step for the future of RiverTree Massillon.
Here's a glimpse at some of what excites us about this opportunity:

A New Ministry Frontier

RiverTree Massillon has seen some encouraging growth in recent years, and now we're gearing up for an exciting milestone: welcoming our first full-time Kid’s Director. This marks a significant shift in our children's ministry. Previously, the role has been filled by dedicated part-time directors, but now, with this transition, comes a new opportunity for leadership and vision-casting.

A Bright Future With Young Families

We have a solid base of young families, particularly with children aged 4 and under, setting the stage for a promising future for our kids at RTM. Currently, we offer a partial program on Sunday mornings, where kids worship with adults before heading to dedicated programming during the message. We believe we are ready for more —we're aiming to develop a comprehensive kids ministry, covering ages 0 to 6th grade.

An Opportunity for Collaborative Ministry

The incoming leader will join a vibrant and growing young staff, all passionate about reaching and serving young families. They'll also have the privilege of collaborating with Kids Directors from other RiverTree campuses to shape a cohesive approach to kid’s ministry, while taking the lead in executing that vision specifically at the Massillon campus. It's a unique opportunity to work together on strategy and implementation, tailoring our approach to fit the specific needs and context of our community in Massillon.

MISSION, VISION + VALUES

What We Do

We are a church family that is committed to one simple truth - you are made for more.

We exist to lead people to discover and deepen MORE in Jesus:

  • MORE LIFE in a relationship with Jesus
  • MORE BELONGING in the family of Jesus
  • MORE PURPOSE in the mission of Jesus

How We Do It

Five values drive everything we do at RiverTree Massillon:

WE LIVE MAGNETICALLY

God is always drawing people to himself through Christ. We seek to be a church that is full of the magnetic love of Jesus. We live authentic lives that are filled with Christ’s presence and leave people hungry for more of what we possess.

WE PRIORITIZE BEING OVER DOING

The work God does through you will only ever be as powerful as the work God does in you. We cannot give away what we are ourselves do not possess. Because we know that to be true, we prioritize slowing down to live in step with the Holy Spirit every day.

WE ARE IRRATIONALLY GENEROUS

Our God is a generous God. Generosity is love in action. We stive to be a church that glorifies God and is known in our city for our irrational generosity. We freely sacrifice because we want to maximize the opportunities God has placed in front of us.

WE DREAM BIG KINGDOM DREAMS

We believe that God is always at work around us and that he is always inviting us to be involved in that work. We refuse to be a church that is limited by a lack of faith. We are constantly believing for and asking for God to accomplish his Kingdom dream through us. We are audacious in our faith, and we allow that audacity to drive our vision. We give people permission to dream about what God could do through them and then fuel their courage to actually go do it!

WE EMPOWER THE NEXT GENERATION

We believe the best days of God’s church are still ahead of her. We want to foster a culture of kingdom dreaming and believing in the leaders of tomorrow. We take seriously our responsibility to raise up a new generation of kingdom building leaders.

Tell me about the role.
